Little Heart Coaster Crochet Pattern

Little Heart Coaster Crochet Pattern

As promised, there will be two patterns available this month to get your creative juices flowing for Valentine’s Day! What’s better than decorating your home or office with cute coasters and baskets? This first pattern is the Little Heart Coaster crochet pattern. Don’t let the name fool you- these are big hearts that take only a little time to make.

Let’s Get Started!

  • Difficulty: Beginner
  • Materials:
    • 4.5 mm crochet hook (Size G)
    • Yarn needle/ darning needle
    • Lily Sugar’n Cream yarn- 1 ball white, 1 ball pink, 1 ball red.
      • The standard 2.5oz ball should make at least 2 coasters each.
  • Stitches used: chain, single crochet, slip stitch, single crochet decreasing and increasing
  • Abbreviations:
    • ch- chain
    • sc- single crochet
    • sc2tog- single crochet two together (insert hook into stitch, pull up a loop. insert hook into next stitch, pull up a loop. Yarn over and pull through all three loops on the hook. Now there is one stitch where there was two!)
    • sl st- slip stitch
    • st- stitch

Tips Before Starting:

Leave a longer tail/ end when starting this project to have extra for detailing. Do not turn your work when completing this pattern. There will be a very clear “right side” and “wrong side”. This is not completed “in the round,” but work is not turned at the beginning of each row. There are helpful hints along the way: make sure the 3 sc for the tip of the heart line up. Also, please note that all final stitch counts include the slip stitch that joins the rows.

Instructions for the Little Heart Coaster Crochet Pattern:

Round 1: Chain 16. In 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in top loop. Sc in the next 6 st (top loops only). 3 sc in next st (go into two loops of the chain for a better look overall). Sc in the next 6 st (top loops only). Sc 3 in the last chain. Rotate and work down the opposite side of the chain. Sc in the next 5 st, sc2tog (skip a stitch in between, this is the st that had 3 sc). Sc in the next 6 st. Join end of row to the first sc with a sl st.

Meena, I made a small adjustment to the photos that are within the instructions, I hope that it helped! Also, if you are reading on a mobile device, scroll to the very bottom of the page and click “switch to full site” and this may also help the page load better. Thank you!

Hi Meena. Maybe try to use the print preview version and see if that helps the formatting? There are no photos on top of the words, I’m sorry you’re having trouble.
